Hanuman Tail Pooja

I believe in God, the faith in itself performs miracles. I have always been fascinated in listening to different pooja details and tried out some rituals since childhood. One such 45 days pooja i came across is Hanuman Tail Pooja. This is a 45 days simple ritual we follow. The main duties to be followed in these 45 days is keeping one dot of sandalwood paste and kumkum per day on the tail of hanuman. There is a particular picture available for this pooja but i could not acquire it in Bangalore. So, i did this with the Hanuman photo available with me. Here is a detailed process of how i do it.

Important things to follow for the 45 days.

1. No non-veg for these 45 days

2. No using mattress.

3. No copulation

4. No eating onions/garlic, atleast restrict to not eating it on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

5. During menstruation cycle, the process to be followed by any other family member.

6. THOROUGHLY ENJOY THESE 45 DAYS IN GODLINESS AND SELF- REVELATION.

Start this puja either on a tuesday or saturday. Every tuesday make a garland of 11 betel leaves and adorn the photo with it.

I start it always on a tuesday. I make uddin vada (without onions), make a garland of 11 of these vadas and a garland of 11 betel leaves and decorate the Lord's photo with this.

Everyday of the 45 days, the following has to be done:

After bath, i clean the pooja space, keep flowers.Light diya chanting Ganapathi's name:

Shuklaambaradharam Vissnnum Shashivarnnam Caturbhujam |
Prasannavadanam Dhyaayet Sarvavighnopashaantaye ||

Aum Ekadantaya vidmahe, Vakratundaya dhimahi, Tanno dantih prachodayat

Offer Neiveidiyam (milk, fruits or any sweet dish).Now make a paste of sandalwood and keep a dot on the tail (should begin from the body and end at the outer tip of the tail). Now keep a kumkum dot on this. (I make a paste of orange kumkum alongwith jasmine oil and keep ready).

Chant the below mantra:

Asadhya sadhaka swamin, Asadhyam tava kim vada

Rama dhoota daya sindho, madh karyam sadhaya prabho!!

Meaning: Oh Lord, you are capable of doing the impossible;
is there any act which is not possible by You? Oh
Compassionate Lord, who went for Sri Rama as his emissary!
please fulfill my request NOW!

Then, read Hanuman Chalisa. Now light, dhoop and kapur and do aarti for god. Reapeat the same for all 45 days.

I read hanuman chalisa throughout the day as many times as i can.

On the 45th day, i make a garland of 45 uddin vadas to indicate 45 days of the deeksha. I prepare a small feast and offer the food to God and feed how many ever people i can on this day.

I restrain as much as i can from eating onions and garlic for the 45 days and never eat it on tuesdays and saturdays. Every morning i eat a fruit, for lunch i eat a complete meal on a leaf and dinner is mainly 2 chapathis or 2 dosas (nothing elaborate). I eat nothing in between these three meals for the 45 days.

This is my third time of this deeksha and today is the 6th day......

Kasab's Verdict

Reading the paper is my first necessity when my day dawns. So, as usual, i sat on my comfy couch and started browsing the paper, the eye-catching news was over 34 crores spent on India's costliest prisoner. I was dumbstruck at the revelation. There are so many victims of the attack, caused by this man and his partners, yet to come to terms with the loss of losing their near and dear ones and the man who is responsible for this bloodshed enjoys VIP treatment. I'm wondering at how weak our law system is or rather how linient to the bloodshedders. Our system thinks twice to pay the compensation to the victims but boasts boldly on spending over 34 crores on Kasab's well-being.
The verdict given is to be hanged till death, i wonder if this is really befitting the crime committed. He is getting away easy by enjoying India's hospitality and still basking the gory glory on his deeds. His bosses must be laughing away and taking his example to show that these terrorist acts are okay to perform since India's system is linient and hospitable enough to spare them harshness or punish with severity if caught. Everyone there must be jumping at the opportunity of terrorising our people. The worst part in all this is (this bit is from the newspaper) he doesn't get to die today, tomorrow or in the near future. He can still live and enjoy till our law finds it feasible to hang him. The best punishment would be to let him in CST and let the mob deal with him, so all the other terrorists out there would know what it would be to attack us. But no, our system belongs in rendering out the VIP treatment to him.
A thought to the human rights activists, where were your rights to live when Kasab and his accomplices were out snuffing the lives out of our people as if they were mere playthings and nothing else?? Please give it a thought before deciding to fight to save Kasab's head........
